About Us

The name „Vindobona“ originates from the first and original name of Vienna, the capital city of Austria. Back then it was a Roman military camp in the province of Pannonia.
The villa was named „Vindobona“ because of our personal connection and familiarity to Vienna.

The villa consists of two 4 star apartments with separated private entrances.
On the ground floor is a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and a charming terrace with view to the garden. The top floor consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two individual balconies from which you can enjoy the seaside view.

Its history begins in 1967 when it was initially built. It is located in the area Majerovica which was a famous area, accomodating naval admirals.

Parts of the villa were built with pristine white color stones in a traditional setting, originating from the neighbouring island Brač. This type stone was also incorporated in various historical and political structures, such as the Diocletian Palace in Split, the Cathedral of St. James in Šibenik and the Cathedral of St. Lawrence in Trogir, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also parts of the „White House“ in Washington, D.C., and the parliamentary buildings in Vienna and Budapest were built with this specific type stone.

After almost fifty years of hosting, in 2014, the estate underwent a complete renovation to ensure modern housing quality while keeping its traditional flair. The villa’s interior was designed and built by local carpenters in precision work. Some bathrooms are furnished with striking green Verde Guatemala marble slabs.

Over several decades family Medvidović has been looking after thousands of guests and made sure that each and everyone of them enjoyed a unique vacation to their liking. This is reflected by keeping their AirBnB Superhost status consecutively since 2015.
